WHAT IT MEANS: At ACW, we are grounded in the idea that the way we talk, treat, and love ourselves (and others) has direct impact on our day to day lives. AHIMSA is the practice of aligning our words, behaviors, and our thoughts with respect, with vulnerability, and with compassion.

WHY SHOULD I PRACTICE IT: Self-love and self-respect are phrases tossed around in media as things we should feel, when in actuality they are things we must practice. And at ACW, we know that when people commit to this practice, the impact is profound. AHIMSA is the antidote to destructive thoughts, behaviors, actions— as well as emotional repression, harmful communication, etc. When we repeatedly and consistently commit to self-love, intentional healing, and growth, we are able to cultivate joy and wellness in ourselves and in our relationships.

HOW DO I PRACTICE IT: Everyday. One choice at a time. By creating healthy rituals. By committing to curiosity with others. By being mindful about where you invest your energy. By allowing yourself to rest. By listening to your body. And, by being thoughtful about what you consume (ex. food, social media, etc.). It’s a slow and intentional grind.
